Black Dog Productions is excited to offer a NEW FORMAT for our award-winning Performing Arts camps for kids entering grades 5-12! This summer we will offer a THREE-WEEK CAMP SESSION in which we'll rehearse and perform the musical The Lightning Thief, the thrilling story of Percy Jackson!

Camp will be held at Theater And Dance Academy Of Wellington

3500 Fairlane Farms Road Suite 6, Wellington, FL

MON-FRI • 9AM TO 2PM

 

TWO PERFORMANCES JULY 25 AT STAGE WEST, PALM BEACH STATE COLLEGE

 

Auditions will be held Sunday, March 29th at Kannah House Studios located at 3361 Fairlane Farms Rd, Suite 4, Wellington, FL 33414. If all available slots are filled, we will add additional time slots.

Video submissions will be accepted if your actor cannot attend auditions. Contact us at blackdogwellington@gmail.com for video submission instructions.

Tuition for the three-week camp will be $750. A deposit will be due at time of casting/acceptance of role, and the balance will be due two weeks before camp begins. You can pay in installments if you like. 

 

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

Your actor/s should plan on singing up to one minute of their favorite show tune (it can be from The Lightning Thief, but it doesn't have to be), or a favorite karaoke track that shows off their talents. If your actor is new to musical theater and doesn't have a song they want to sing, we will ask them to sing Happy Birthday or another simple song to see what they can do.

 

For the acting portion of the audition, your actor can prepare a 45 to 60 second monologue of their choice. It can be from a book, movie, TV show, play, musical...up to them! If they aren't familiar with finding and learning a monologue, we will have monologues at the audition for them to choose from. 

 

They may be asked to read a short scene for a particular character as well. 

 

As this isn't a big dance musical, we will not require a dance audition. We will teach them everything they will need to know!
